Resumo O objetivo deste texto concentra-se em realizar uma revisão de literatura das pesquisas existentes sobre a temática da história da escolarização dos imigrantes italianos e descendentes. Os imigrantes italianos instalaram-se no Brasil, sobretudo, a partir das décadas finais do século XIX e organizaram diversas instituições, entre as quais as escolares. A pesquisa justifica-se pela necessidade de conhecer a produção existente sobre essas escolas e, assim, delinear tendências futuras de investigação. Deste modo, o estudo concentra-se em artigos publicados, teses, dissertações, livros e anais dos principais eventos na área da história da educação. Portanto, a metodologia segue a dos estudos de estado da arte. RESUMEN El objetivo de este texto es realizar una revisión bibliográfica de las investigaciones existentes sobre el tema de la historia de la escolarización de los inmigrantes y descendientes de italianos. Los inmigrantes italianos se instalaron en Brasil, especialmente a partir de las últimas décadas del siglo XIX, y organizaron diversas instituciones, incluidas escuelas. La investigación se justifica por la necesidad de conocer la producción existente sobre estas escuelas y, así, perfilar futuras líneas de investigación. Así, el estudio se centra en artículos publicados, tesis, disertaciones, libros y actas de los principales eventos académicos en el campo de la historia de la educación. Por lo tanto, la metodología sigue la de los estudios del estado del arte. Con base en lo levantamiento realizado, fue posible observar que algunas regiones brasileñas fueron más investigadas que otras y aún hay mucho por estudiar sobre estas instituciones educativas. RESUME Cet article a pour but la réalisation d’une revue bibliographique des recherches existantes sur le thème de l’histoire de la scolarisation des immigrés italiens et de leur descendants. Les immigrés italiens se sont installés au Brésil surtout à partir de la fin du XIXe siècle et y ont organisé plusieurs institutions, dont lesquelles les écoles. Cette recherche-ci se justifie par la nécessité de connaître la production existante sur ces écoles et ainsi définir des tendances pour des recherches futures. De cette manière, cet étude adresse des articles, thèses, mémoires, livres et annales d’événements publiés dans le domaine de l’histoire de l’éducation. ABSTRACT This text aims to investigate the Italian school in Pelotas, in the decades of 1920 and 1930, when there were important changes in the institutions related to immigration groups. The research is justified by the need to boost studies about the scholarization of Italian immigrants in these decades, since most of the knowledge about it up to now is focused on the late 19th and early 20th century. To contemplate the discussion on this context, the research uses the theoretical perspective of transnational history and transnational history of educations. Sources are Italian consulate documents, reports by commissions in charge of the restructuring of Italian schools abroad, and reports by the Italian Society in Pelotas and by the city’s mayors. Analyzing the sources from the perspective proposed herein, it was observed that Italian school, along the years analyzed, was influenced by both Italian fascist policies of Mussolini’s governments and by the my the municipal context of Pelotas’ government, with the opening of new public schools: in addition to that, it was also affected by the greater Brazilian context, with nationalist policies by the government of Getulio Vargas’, that culminated with the closing of the school in 1938.

RESUMO Esta contribuição visa investigar a escola italiana em Pelotas nas décadas de 1920 a 1930, período em que houve modificações importantes para as instituições ligadas a grupos imigratórios. A pesquisa justifica-se pela necessidade de ampliar os estudos sobre a escolarização dos imigrantes italianos nas décadas mencionadas, uma vez que grande parte do saber acumulado está concentrada sobre o final do século XIX e o início do XX. Para contemplar as discussões que englobam tal contexto, a pesquisa usa a perspectiva teórica da história transnacional e história transnacional da educação. No que concerne as fontes, são utilizados documentos consulares italianos, relatórios de comissões encarregadas da reestruturação da escola italiana no exterior e relatórios da sociedade italiana de Pelotas e de intendentes municipais em Pelotas. Com a análise das fontes a partir da perspectiva proposta observou-se que a escola italiana, durante os anos analisados, foi tanto influenciada pelas políticas italianas fascistas do governo de Mussolini quanto pelo contexto municipal do governo de Pelotas, com a abertura de novas escolas públicas; além disso, também sofreu influência do contexto maior brasileiro, com as políticas nacionalistas do governo de Getúlio Vargas que culminaram com o fechamento no ano de 1938.

Resumo Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar as escolas italianas existentes no município de Pelotas (RS), assim como sublinhar, ainda que brevemente, a imigração italiana no município. Para tanto, utilizam-se, como fontes, especialmente, documentos consulares, notícias de periódicos locais e o relatório do viajante Ullrich. O recorte da pesquisa está delimitado pelos documentos pesquisados, a saber, o final do século XIX. No andamento da pesquisa, percebeu-se a relação existente entre as escolas e as sociedades italianas de Pelotas, assim como o tensionamento existente dentro das sociedades.

ABSTRACT This article aims to analyse Italian schools that existed in Pelotas (RS, Brazil), as well as to briefly highlight Italian immigration in the city. To do so, we mostly use sources such as consular documents, news in local newspapers and the report by the traveller Ullrich. The research is limited to documents of the end of the 19th century. During research, we noticed a relationship between Italian schools and societies in Pelotas, as well as tension within the societies.

RESUMEN Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las escuelas italianas existentes en el municipio de Pelotas (RS), así como subrayar, aunque brevemente, la inmigración italiana en el municipio. Para ello, se utilizan, como fuentes, especialmente, documentos consulares, noticias de periódicos locales y el informe del viajero Ullrich. El recorte del estudio está delimitado por los documentos investigados, a saber, el final del siglo XIX. En el curso de la investigación se percibió la relación existente entre las escuelas y las sociedades italianas de Pelotas, así como el tensado existente dentro de las sociedades.

Résumé Cet article-ci a comme but d’analyser les écoles italiennes à la minicipalitè de Pelotas/RS (Brésil), ainsi que souligner bref, quand-même, l’immigration italienne dans la commune. Puor cela, on utilise, comme des sources, spécialment, des documents consulaires, des nouvelles aux périodiques locaux et le rapport du voyageur Ullrich.La découpage de la recherche est délimitée par les documents recherchés, c’est-à-dire, la fin du XIXe siécle. Dans le developpement de la recherche, on a constaté la relation entre les écoles et les sociétés italiennes de Pelotas, ainsi que la tension dans les sociétés.
